日本の線虫研究の更なる発展・活性化のため「線虫研究の未来を創る会 / The Future of Nematode Research」と題した研究会を開催します。本会は、国際学会でカバーすることが難しい若手の発表と交流に重点をおき、学生からPIまで、参加者全員がフランクに語り合える場を提供することを目指しています。
第7回にあたる今回は奈良県の奈良女子大学にて開催する運びとなりました。オンサイトでの口頭・ポスター発表を行います。直接議論することで新たな発想が生まれることを期待します。皆さま奮ってご参加ください！
We are pleased to announce the symposium "The Future of Nematode Research" 2025, to develop and invigorate nematode research in Japan. This meeting will focus on presentations and interactions by early researchers, which are often difficult to cover at international conferences. Our goal is to provide a casual environment where all participants, from students to lab heads, can freely discuss and share ideas.
This 7th meeting will be held at Nara Women's University in Nara Prefecture. We will have on-site oral and poster presentations.
We hope that direct discussions will lead to new ideas. We welcome and encourage the enthusiastic participation of the entire nematode community!

Access to the venue: From Kyoto, take the Kintetsu Kyoto Line to Kintetsu Nara Station (35 minutes by limited express, 45 minutes by express), then a 5-minute walk from the station.
約12分程度の口頭発表、約5分程度の質疑応答という時間枠を予定しています。（発表者の応募数によっては多少前後する可能性があります。）みなさま奮ってご応募ください。スライドは、原則、英語表記で作っていただき、発表言語は日本語もしくは英語のどちらかでお願いします。学生以外の、一般枠での口頭発表者の希望者が多い場合は、若手の方、線虫を用いた研究を始めて、まだ年月が浅い方を優先して発表していただく場合があります。予めご了承ください。口頭発表希望者は、下記より要旨をご提出ください。

We are currently envisioning 12-minute talks followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. This may be subject to slight adjustment depending on the number of registrants. We request that text elements on slides be in English; the presentation language can be either Japanese or English, as desired. If the number of presentations is too high to fit in the time we have, priority will be given to younger researchers or those relatively new to nematode research. Thank you for your understanding. Presentation Categories
| Category 1 | Students: Undergraduate and graduate students, etc. The "Oral Presentation Award" will be given based on audience votes. |
| Category 2 | General: Researchers who are not students. |
| Category 3 | Aspiring and early-career PIs: Young PIs within a few years of starting their labs, or prospective PIs such as postdoctoral fellows and assistant/associate professors. In addition to their research content, speakers will also discuss their future prospects. The "Next Leader Award" will be given based on audience votes. |

Please make your posters A0 size in portrait orientation. English should be used for all textual elements wherever possible. The language used for presentation may be freely chosen. No abstracts are necessary for poster presentations, but visual abstracts may be submitted (please see below).

Optional Visual Abstract Submission for Poster Presenters
Poster presenters are welcome to submit a visual abstract on a voluntary basis. However, visual abstract submission is mandatory for those wishing to give a Flash Talk. Please upload your visual abstract via the registration Google Form. Submitted visual abstracts will be included at the end of the conference abstract book. The Visual Abstract text should be in English. Visual abstracts must be submitted in PDF format (within 1MB if possible; 10MB maximum). Please generate your visual abstract using any appropriate software (e.g. Powerpoint) with “Widescreen (Width : 33.867 cm, Height : 19.05cm)” setting and save it as a PDF file. The filename should begin with your name (e.g.“John_Smith_nFuture2025_visual.pdf”).

ポスター発表者の中から希望者のみ、１分間の口頭プレゼンテーションの機会 （Flash Talk）を設けたいと思います。ただし、ポスター賞対象者はVisual Abstractの提出とFlash Talk発表が必須です。Flash Talkの発表言語は、日本語もしくは英語です。
We plan to offer an optional 1-minute oral presentation opportunity (Flash Talk) for poster presenters who wish to participate. However, Visual Abstract submission and participation in the Flash Talk are mandatory for those applying for a poster award. Flash Talk presentations may be given in Japanese or English.
8月21日のプログラム終了後（16：00～予定）に、学会会場においてzoom併用でリーダーズ会議を行う予定です。現地参加しておられない方も、リーダーズ会議のみzoom参加していただくことが可能です。PIの先生方のみならず、助教やポスドクなど、さまざまな立場から線虫業界について考え、意見交換をしたい人に気兼ねなくご参加いただきたく思っております。参加の可否を参加登録googleフォームより、お知らせください。
After the meeting ends (Aug. 21 ~4pm), there will be a hybrid Leaders' Meeting held at the meeting site (and online via Zoom). Remote participation in this meeting is available to all, even if you cannot participate in the nFuture meeting. This meeting is not only for lab heads but anyone - assistant professors, postdocs, or anyone in the community who wishes to participate. Please indicate your participation in this meeting on the Meeting Registration Google Form.
