日本の線虫研究の更なる発展・活性化のため「線虫研究の未来を創る会 / The Future of Nematode Research」と題した研究会を開催します。本会は、国際学会でカバーすることが難しい若手の発表と交流に重点をおき、学生からPIまで、参加者全員がフランクに語り合える場を提供することを目指しています。
第6回にあたる今回は滋賀県の立命館大学草津キャンパスにおいて開催する運びとなりました。オンサイトでの口頭・ポスター発表を行います。直接議論することで新たな発想が生まれることを期待します。皆さま奮ってご参加ください！
We are pleased to announce the symposium "The Future of Nematode Research" 2024, to develop and invigorate nematode research in Japan. This meeting will focus on presentations and interactions by early researchers, which are often difficult to cover at international conferences. Our goal is to provide a casual environment where all participants, from students to lab heads, can freely discuss and share ideas.
This 6th meeting will be held at Ritsumeikan University's Kusatsu Campus in Shiga Prefecture. We will have on-site oral and poster presentations. We hope that direct discussions will lead to new ideas. We welcome and encourage the enthusiastic participation of the entire nematode community!

今のところ、約12分程度の口頭発表、約5分程度の質疑応答という時間枠を予定しています。（発表者の応募数によっては多少前後する可能性があります。）みなさま奮ってご応募ください。スライドは、原則、英語表記で作っていただき、発表言語は日本語もしくは英語のどちらかでお願いします。学生以外の、一般枠での口頭発表者の希望者が多い場合は、若手の方、線虫を用いた研究を始めて、まだ年月が浅い方を優先して発表していただく場合があります。予めご了承ください。口頭発表希望者は、下記より要旨をご提出ください。
We are currently envisioning 12-minute talks followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. This may be subject to slight adjustment depending on the number of registrants. We request that text elements on slides be in English; the presentation language can be either Japanese or English, as desired. If the number of presentations is too high to fit in the time we have, priority will be given to younger researchers or those relatively new to nematode research. Thank you for your understanding. 口頭、ポスター発表登録 / REGISTER PRESENTATION
口頭発表の方はこちらのフォーマットで要旨を作成し上記のGoogle formにアップロードしてください。要旨は、２つのテンプレートを用意しています。全て英語のみで記入するバージョンか、タイトルと名前のみ日本語・英語の両表記で、要旨本文は日本語もしくは英語どちらかで記入（もしくは両方で記入していただいても結構です）のバージョン、どちらかを選択していただき、テンプレートの指示に従ってご提出ください。提出期限は7月20日です。要旨ファイル名は、名前のアルファベット表記(e.g. Saya_Ichihara_nFuture2024_abstract.docx)として提出ください。
For those requesting an oral presentation, please submit an abstract through the Google Form using one of the below templates. 今年も、ポスター発表者の方に１分間の口頭プレゼンテーションの機会 （Flash Talk）を設けたいと思います。これは、必須ではなく、ポスター発表者のうち、希望される方のみにFlash Talk発表をしていただきます。Flash Talkを希望される方は、以下に説明しますVisual Abstract をご提出ください。Visual Abstractは、原則、英語表記をお願いします。Flash Talkの発表言語は、日本語もしくは英語です。提出は、上記の「口頭、ポスター発表」用のgoogle formからアップロードをお願いします。
This year, we would also like to continue the tradition of 1-minute Flash Talks by poster presenters. This is not a requirement for poster presentation, but is available to anyone who wishes. If you wish to present a Flash Talk, please submit a Visual Abstract as described in detail below. The Visual Abstract text should be in English if possible, but the presentation language can be either Japanese or English. To register for a Flash Talk and submit the Visual Abstract, use the above "REGISTER PRESENTATION" link.

Submission of a Visual Abstract is necessary for those who wish to give a 1-minute Flash Talk; for all others, it is optional (they will be included at the end of the abstract book). In either case please use the Google Form for presentation registration to submit it.
提出時のVisual Abstractの形式はできれば1MB（最大10MB) 以内のPDF形式でお願いします。パワーポイントなどにおいて、スライドサイズをワイド画面（幅：33.867 cm 高さ：19.05cm）に選択して、Visual Abstractを作成し、それをPDF保存したものをご提出下さい。スライドは英語表記でお願いします。提出するファイル名には先頭にアルファベットで名前をつけてください。例：“Saya_Ichihara_nFuture2024_visual.pdf”
Visual abstracts must be submitted in PDF format (within 1MB if possible; 10MB maximum). Please generate your visual abstract using any appropriate software (e.g. Powerpoint) with “Widescreen (Width : 33.867 cm, Height : 19.05cm)” setting and save it as a PDF file. 8月28日のプログラム終了後に、学会会場においてzoom併用でリーダーズ会議を行う予定です。現地参加しておられない方も、リーダーズ会議のみ、zoom参加していただくことが可能です。PIの先生方のみならず、助教やポスドクなど、さまざまな立場から線虫業界について考え、意見交換をしたい人に気兼ねなくご参加いただきたく思っております。参加の可否を、参加登録googleフォームより、お知らせください。
After the meeting ends (Aug. 28 ~4pm), there will be a hybrid Leaders' Meeting held at the meeting site (and online via Zoom). Remote participation in this meeting is available to all, even if you cannot participate in the nFuture meeting. This meeting is not only for lab heads but anyone - assistant professors, postdocs, or anyone in the community who wishes to participate. Please indicate your participation in this meeting on the Meeting Registration Google Form.
